Funny T Shirts

Everybody loves their T shirts, especially funny T shirts. Most people own loads of T shirts that they collect over the years but everyone has their favourite tee. T shirts come in all sorts of variations, to fit all sizes but the difference between them is what they say, some people prefer to wear a blank tee shirt, white t shirts being the most popular, perhaps because of James Dean making it cool in Rebel without a cause. With the advent of screen printing it became easy to print images or words onto t-shirts. These words started our as a political message "Dew IT with Dewey" was the first, this was for Thomas E Dewey's campaign for President in 1948, which of course was a failure. But that didn't stop the political T shirt becoming popular, and is even more so nowadays with the backlash  against the war in Iraq, the Bush administration and in he UK the increasingly authoritarian Blair Government. People are becoming dissatisfied with the perceived interest in money rather than ethical causes the governments of the western world seem to be preoccupied with. Corporate scandals such as the Enron disaster only reinforce the belief that it is money that is controlling the world rather than people's good judgement. The increasing size of multinationals as they merge with each other and monopolise markets and try to brainwash people with their brands, many people are now saying "I hate Brands" and what better place to say something like this than on a t shirt. Tees are great for this as you can show people exactly what you think, and you can also make people laugh at the same time. Sometimes people like to take it a bit further and wear a rude t shirt or an offensive t shirt. Probably the most popular T shirt after a plain white one would have to be a che Guevara tee shirt. The picture of che himself was taken by Alberto Diaz, a fashion photographer better known as Korda and is one of the most widely produced image in the world, the classic red t shirt with the black and white silhouette image of Che Guevara has to be the most iconic t shirt designs ever made, everyone should have at least one che tee in their collection. But sometimes it is better to wear a t shirt that has one purpose, to be a funny t shirt, making you happy, putting a smile on other people's faces, making people feel better and leading to the world being a better place.

It's not just t shirts that people can wear to get their message across, hoodies are fast becoming the new symbol of rebellion just as T shirts were back in the 50s. Hoodies are associated with bad behaviour and have now been stigmatised by the media including stupid newspapers like the Daily Mail and have led to people deliberately wearing them to piss miserable people off, the ASBO Yob hoodie is a perfect example of this.

There is even a place next to your desk where you can have a funny slogan just like the one on your t shirt, mouse mats are a great place to have a rude message!
