Types of MulletThere are many types of mullet, but no matter what kind of mullet it is, it will always look crap. To help you learn about the different types of mullet we have used the very latest in hi-tech 3D CGI graphics technology to accurately model various mullet styles on non other than David Beckham. MULLET FACT! -- Most mulleted people are fatter, uglier and thicker than David Beckham!
The Fashion MulletThis is the new breed of mullet hitting the UK. It is thought buy the wearer to be fashionable and cool, somehow they seem oblivious to people laughing at them, perhaps people are just being cruel to them by not telling them. The Fashion Mullet is often referred to as a "Toni & Guy Mullet" and is usually worn with a trendy pink t-shirt.
The Rat TailThe Rat Tail is a cowardly mullet, for someone who would dearly love to have a mullet but doesn't have the courage to go all the way. Rat Tails are characterised by the thin rat tail like mullet hanging down from the back, there are many variations on the style on the top and sides (as David demonstrates below) and the rat tail section can vary in length.
The 10/90The 10/90 is often cited as the purest of all mullets, simply 10% of the hair on the top and 90% hanging off the back. To grow one of these requires time, effort, bravery and stupidity in spades.
German Porn Star/Football MulletThis is the chosen mullet style of pornstars/1980s footballers, usually slightly messy curly hair with no particular style on top but with the essential ‘long at the back’ with the obligatory moustache.
BowlletThis is he combination of two of the worst haircuts imaginable, and quite possibly the worst mullet style of all. The bowl hair cut (often referred to a pudding basin cut), is one of the simplest haircuts to cut, it is done simply by putting a bowl/pudding basin over the subjects head, thus covering a large part of the hair, all remaining hair can then be cut away to leave an amusing mushroom shaped haircut. To get a bowllet is slightly harder as the person cutting the hair has to hack away as they normally would to create a pudding basin cut, but be careful not to cut the back part of the hair.
MudflapThis is a mullet with the main/back part of the mullet cut to a very specific specification. The main/back section of the mullet must be cut to resemble the mudflap behind a car’s wheel. The mudflap must be cut to form a flat and squared off flap at the back. This particular mullet takes some amount of maintenance (and skill on the behalf of the hairdresser) in order to keep the mudflap correctly squared off at the back.
Caveman MulletThis is the mullet of choice for mullets who like the ‘rugged look’ (or more accurately the Neanderthal look) To perfect this look, all hair except the top and sides should be left to grow uncontrollably (although some trimming of the beard may be required to remove lodged cornflakes).
SkulletThis is a haircut reserved for the oldest and wisest of mullets. When a mullet begins to go bald this is no great problem as little attention is given to the hair on the top of the head anyway, so it can be left to bald whilst being more than made up for by the long hair at the back.
